Robert K. Wittman joined the FBI as a Special Agent in 1988. As a result of specialized training in art, antiques, jewelry and gem identification, he served as the FBI’s investigative expert in this field. During his 20 year career with the FBI he recovered more than $300 million worth of stolen art and cultural property resulting in numerous prosecutions and convictions. In 2005, he was instrumental in the creation of the FBI’s rapid deployment Art Crime Team. He has represented the United States around the world conducting investigations and instructing international police and museums in recovery and security techniques in more than 20 countries. In 2010 he authored the New York Times best seller "Priceless: How I Went Undercover to Rescue the World's Stolen Treasures." In 2011, Mr. Wittman was elected as Vice Chairman of the Museum Association Security Committee (MASC), a standing committee of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM). Since 2008 he has been the President of Robert Wittman Inc., an international art recovery, security and collection management firm and continues to speak throughout the world on art security and recovery.
