NEW YORK – Elizabeth Taylor and Andy Warhol, major luminaries of the 20th century, shine together in a signed offset lithograph of the actress by the artist, making it the star attraction in a Jasper52 Fine Paintings and Prints Auction on Saturday, Oct. 14. Liz Taylor, the litho (above), is signed and dated “Andy Warhol 67” in ballpoint pen at the lower right. The work was published by Leo Castelli Gallery, New York (Feldman & Schellmann, II.7) in an edition of about 300. The colors are rich and even, and the print is loose in the frame. Purchased from the Marisa del Re Gallery in New York City, the artwork is estimated at $35,000-$45,000.
From an edition of 10,000 is a Pablo Picasso signed lithograph from 1954 titled Danseuse (Dancer). The small print (below) has a $600-$800 estimate.

An abstract painting (below) by Camille Hilaire (French 1916-2004) makes a bold statement on a 17 ½-by-25-inch canvas. It carries a $2,000-$2,500 estimate.

A dozen drawings on paper of lions by French artist and illustrator Raylambert, pseudonym of Raymond Gabriel Lambert, are in very good condition. Once called the “Prince of Illustrators,” Raylambert created many pencil drawings, notably studies of animals, fawns, cows and birds as well as landscapes.

Enoch Wood Perry Jr., a highly regarded American artist, painted portraits of many notable figures, including Jefferson Davis, Ulysses S Grant and Brigham Young. His painting titled At the Well, Brittany, which depicts a wistful youth, is estimated at $2,000-$2,500.
